Meet Christine…
When I decided to pursue schooling for the Doctorate of Traditional Chinese Medicine, I had no idea that I would find my life’s purpose. From learning a new way to perceive the world, to using acupuncture while crafting herbal formulas, to witnessing the interplay of human emotions and how they translate into symptoms and illness; I discovered true passion in this medicine.
After I graduated in 2017 I became inspired by the unique way that Traditional Chinese Medicine guides women through life. I’ve broadened my studies to focus on balancing the menstrual cycle, easing through the transitions of pregnancy, birth, postpartum & menopause, supporting couples with fertility, and assisting with other gynaecological disorders. I have a passion for all issues related to womb health and helping women cultivate new possibilities.
In pursuit of finding balance within my own experiences of insomnia and anxiety, I also gained a special interest in mental-emotional disorders. I’ve come to witness that the way we interact with ourselves and the world can be expressed by the symptoms in our physical and emotional body. I bring this awareness into my general practice as I treat mental health, digestive complaints, respiratory disorders and a wide range of muscle-skeletal pain.
I believe that relaxing and regulating the nervous system to be most important. Thus, I incorporate cupping, tui na massage, tuning forks, gua sha, meditation & visualization, and warmth to all my acupuncture treatments.
As a Registered Acupuncturist and Herbalist, I take great care in guiding clients to form lasting relationships with their health, habits, diet, and lifestyle. I love the time I spend in the treatment room and hope to support each patient’s journey as they move towards a balanced state of wellness.
I have been slowly returning from maternity leave at a rate that feels nourishing to myself and my family. My time spent with my son is cherished most above all, yet I find my time in clinic to be so nourishing, providing a much needed balance within life as a new mother.
Having practiced shamanism for 15 years, a lot of my spare time is spent furthering this practice. I am often exploring my own patterns, family history, belief systems and perceptions of myself and the world - especially when something isn’t working in my life and I am looking to make a shift.
I offer this in treatments once I have formed a relationship with a patient and together we have determined that they need extra support in this way.
Out of all my years working shamanically, most profound on my journey has been my work with the archetype project (and I truly believe it is one of the reasons I am a mother today). I am so excited to offer this to patients as it provides them with the tools and resources needed to start developing a relationship with themselves.
My spare time is filled with finding new ways to make my son giggle, reading/listening to fantasy novels, journaling, cuddling my cat, creating delicious new meals with my husband, and of course, continuing my never-ending pursuit of knowledge within the realm of TCM.
I look forward to working with you and sharing this medicine!
